The sun has got his hat on

Greetings from SerenTex who have been happily enjoying the sunshine.
Rhiannon is well enough at last to come back and taken up her baking duties making this wonderful sunshine cake. I'm told they ate all except his hat! From previous experience I know this is true.
Thanks to Jenny for taking this photo and to Sue for forwarding it to me.

More of our pier project work.

Jenny brought along a box full of the most wonderful lace doilies that were about to be thrown away by a relative. We were thrilled by the wonderful samples of hand made lace in the box. She was going to share them between us all to start a new project, but Sue suggested they might be too precious and Jenny took them home and try and get an expert opinion on them.

They were studied carefully by us all.

As you can see one of us did bring work to do! This is going to be a knitting needle wrap.

This is only a small representation of the work being prepared for our coming exhibition and we will hopefully have more for you after our next meeting.
Now comes the part we enjoy most, the eating part of the meeting! Rhiannon usually brings the home made goodies to eat with our 'cuppa' and she is away on holiday. When this happens we have a deputy - Ann takes over. It's a difficult act to follow but as usual she keeps the high standard set by Rhiannon. This time she made us a lovely apple and cinnamon cake with Fromage Fraiche and it was delicious. Thanks Ann!

Our project on Colwyn Bay Victoria Pier

We had a happy meeting as usual.

And this was the serious part of the meeting!

There were far too many photos for one post, so there are more to follow in the next few days.

The Birthday Party at Plas Maenan

This a very poor photo of the birthday girl Janine.

And here they all are chatting away as if they hadn't seen each other for weeks, actually we all met yesterday :)

I don't know who suggested coming here today to celebrate Janine's birthday, but I do know Sue arranged it all and she is always thinking of exciting things for us all to do as well. Thanks Sue. We rarely thank you and take you very much for granted.

Colwyn Bay Pier

This cake was mouth melting. Rhiannon spoils us!
This is also Rhiannon's work.

These are pages from Sue's Pier Journal.

Mary created this piece to show how we are all killing our sea birds.
Gaynor was busy with her quilting.

Carol’s book workshop

Here are some photos of another great day at SerenTex. We all loved one of Carol’s little books and she was asked to give us a workshop on making it. she decided to demonstrate the first part of the workshop and then we will all get our papers ready for part 2 at home. the difficulty we have is carrying all the wet stuff home. there are also photos of work in progress for the Colwyn Bay pier project.

As you can see we are colour co-ordinated once more. You may wonder about those two little faces at the back? Well, they were not fully co-ordinated Smile BTW this was not prearranged.

Joan’s finished work. I sometimes put these images up the wrong way and get told off, but I think it just goes to prove what good designs they all are and will work well whichever way you show them.

Sue’s finished work.

I won’t name the unfinished pieces, but here they are, some of them in the process of being criticised – it is sometimes even suggested that the work be cut up and rearranged!
